Exhibition at Norway’s Resistance Museum

“Freedom is never won once and for all” is a temporary exhibition produced by the Oslo Jewish Museum and displayed by Norway’s Resistance Museum. It will be open to the public during summer 2013. The exhibition focuses on the military contributions of Norwegian Jews in the Norwegian resistance movement during WWII.This is a scaled down English version of a larger exhibition that was displayed at Oslo Jewish Museum from September 2008 to October 2012.

More than 150 Norwegian Jews took active part in the fight against the Nazi occupation in the years 1940 to 1945. This represented nearly ten per cent of the total Jewish population with Norwegian citizenship, and exceeded the corresponding percentage for the Norwegian public at large. Here is their story, told through seven individual histories.

Norway’s Resistance Museum is located at Akershus Fortress, and is open every day during the summer month. For more information, please visit their website.
